Debt Capital Markets funds Anglo Irish Bank in the wholesale debt markets through the issuance of tradable paper under various debt programmes. The objective of Debt Capital Markets is to broaden the Bank's investor base through the diversification of its funding sources. The business is global, issuing in the public and private arenas to investors in the European, North American and Asian markets.
The instruments used are spilt between Short-Term Funding (issuance out to 12 months) and Medium Term Funding (issuance out to 10 years).
Debt Capital Markets is also responsible for the management of the Bank's regulatory capital base. This includes the management of existing transactions, potential future transactions and keeping abreast of market and regulatory changes while continuing to maintain a strong capital base.
