FUNDING STRATEGY
Anglo Irish Bank places a strategic emphasis on building strong and scalable funding franchises.

The Bank's primary source of funding comes through its customer deposit operations which are located in Ireland, the UK, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Austria.

The Bank has also developed a strong franchise and expertise in the international capital markets. The Bank's funding and capital base has been significantly enhanced through the use of a broad range of wholesale funding instruments, which delivers a diversity of wholesale funding to improve funding duration and quality. Through its intensive Investor Relations programme the Bank has established relationships with more than 350 banks worldwide.

FUNDING PROFILE
The Bank's total funding stood at €88.2bn at 31^st March 2008. Customer balances accounted for 62% of the Bank's funding, consistent with the levels of the past five years.
