ANGLO IRISH BANK - CHANGES TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc today announces the appointment of Mr. Donal O'Connor as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 26 June 2008 and the retirement of Mr. Fintan Drury as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 27 June 2008.

Mr. O'Connor was the Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Ireland from 1995 to 2007. He is a member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Board and a former chairman of the Eurofirms Board. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Elan Corporation plc.

Commenting on the appointment, Sean Fitzpatrick, Chairman of Anglo Irish Bank said, "We are delighted to welcome Donal to our Board. He brings a wealth of international business experience and we are confident he will make a significant contribution."

Commenting on the retirement of Mr. Fintan Drury, Mr. Fitzpatrick said, "I would like to thank Fintan for his outstanding contribution to the Board and his input as a Non-Executive Director which has been of immense value to the Company."
