Statement from Anglo Irish Bank re resignation of five Non-executive Directors

The Chairman of Anglo Irish Bank Corporation plc, Donal O’Connor, has received letters of resignation from five Non-executive Directors. The Directors are stepping down from their positions to facilitate the appointment of new Board members once the Bank has been formally nationalised following the enactment of legislation in the Houses of the Oireachtas.

The Board members who have tendered their resignations, which take effect immediately, are Ned Sullivan, Gary McGann, Noël Harwerth, Michael Jacob and Anne Heraty.  New non-executive Board appointments will be announced in due course.
